Islamic Relief
Client: Islamic Relief UK, a Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) member - provides indiscriminate aid to some of the poorest and most vulnerable people in the world.
Mission: A total revamp of the charity’s website. More visual, more appealing, more organised, easier to navigate, clearer calls and pathways to action.
A one day workshop with key IRUK staff proved invaluable in extracting information. The information was streamlined into a top level structure - all user orientated. The zoning meant that the client could then populate the site deeper, knowing that the information would be relevant. The main pages consist of a "know more", "donate", and "get involved", paths. The home pages look like video windows and each main image has an option to rotate, and the smaller windows, mean there are multiple opportunities to highlight information and appeals. A news ticker window keeps the content fresh. With over 250 pages the site has a competent CMS. The overall design caters for an organisation that does so much and has so much to say.
During Ramadan 2008 the analytics and bottom line showed that visitors and online donations increased significantly.
Deliverables:
- Workshop
- Concept presentation
- Website design and development
- Maintenance and support.
